  Mexican-Brazilian artist Carolina Fontoura is one such unique crafter, whose experimenting with old bicycle chains has resulted in mesmerizing and luxurious lamps and chandeliers for your lavish apartments. Recycled out of bicycle chains, the lamps and chandeliers by Carolina are on display at her first solo show, Connect. Inspired by Victorian chandeliers, these recycled chandeliers look elegant with a sense of desired delicacy with the items of home décor.

 This smart lighting idea of processing wasted book into something artificial, and useful furniture comes from Lucy Norman at her studio Lula Dot in London.  The designer present their Light Reading Chandelier Collection made out from the recycled book, by looking at these pictures, you can admire how creative Lucy is, every page is folded in half, delivering a circular arrangement which hangs around a ceiling light. If you appreciate recycled design, you will agree with her goals to upcycle London’s waste into lasting beauty.

  There aren’t nearly as many options for chandeliers or lighting made out of clay which is one of the reasons that I am so interested in using this versatile material in lighting pieces of my own.

Handcrafted in Jeremy Cole’s New Zealand studio, White Flax uses 350 ceramic leaves, which get attached to a stainless steel frame via patent alloy/silicon fixings. With a central glass diffuser lighting up the geometrically arranged bone china leaves, White Flax looks like a magnificent sun burning brightly in the sky or like a fantastic sea urchin glowing phosphorescently under the sea.

This stunning centrepiece chandelier is not only uniquely distinctive, but each of its bone china components is uniquely shaped by response to temperature variations in the kiln. The chandelier is an object that has a long and rich history. At first it was nothing more that two beams of wood holding candles which created more light than a single light source.
